The Strangers (2008) - A young couple spends a weekend at an isolated vacation home, only to be terrorized by a group of unknown killers. This film was semi-popular during its 2008 release, but has since dwindled down to an understated status. The scenes leading up to the climax are tension-building and particularly scary because the situation is something that can actually occur, and are a lot more believable than other movies in the horror genre.

"The Last Exorcism" is like the scary movie equivalent of "The Magic School Bus." Just as the students do not expect to go to school and enter a fellow student's bloodstream as a field trip, trailers for "The Last Exorcism" were just as incredibly misleading.
